This Lahore to Karachi PIA Flight Ended Up Landing in Muscat
In what is probably the most ridiculous news you will hear today, a PIA flight has taken its passengers for a wild ride, literally.
PIA flight PK307, which was bound to go from Lahore to Karachi, actually ended up in Muscat, Oman. The aircraft in question was a Boeing 777-340(ER) jet.
The passengers on the plane were in a state of shock and disbelief as their plane was made to go to a far flung country. Their plea for clarification and information from PIA officials also went unanswered to date.
Flight PK307 was scheduled to depart from Lahore at around 9PM last night but it took off early morning today. But instead of landing in Karachi, PIA took all passengers to Muscat.
FlightRadar24 data shows that airliner descended to 10,000 feet, encircled a few times and then continued its flight to ultimately land in Muscat.

Now the passengers are in a foreign land and that too without roaming, meaning that they can’t inform their family about the adventure.

It should be mentioned that PPP President Asif Ali Zardari is also due to arrive in Karachi today afternoon. Elaborate security arrangements have been made with 950 Police personnel deployed and Sharae Faisal in Karachi have been cordoned off for his ‘homecoming.’
Coming back to the matter of the PIA plane PK307, the national airline carrier has once again made sure that it remains in the bad books of the Pakistani public.
What was the need to divert the plane to a far-off country when local nearby airports could’ve been sufficient for the purposes? Saving time and fuel is one thing, but what is unrecoverable in the trust that the passengers of flight PK307 had when they boarded it, unbeknownst to them that they were in for a harrowing experience instead.
#PK307 LHE-KHI was diverted to Muscat being the only closest Airport to handle landing of such aircraft type due to operations halt at KHI.

One may wonder that why flight took off in the first place if operations were on halt. Secondly, why not bring the jet back to Lahore instead of flying people without passports (since it was a domestic flight) to a foreign land?
We just hope this long trip wasn’t for some Pakistani Royal Family on-board who wanted to go to Muscat on urgent basis.
